At The Living Tree we have all been touched by cancer in some way. We are an active and upbeat group of people from all walks of life, who are determined to enjoy life and live as well as we can.
The idea for this book came from a fund raising coffee-morning, where some attendees felt they couldn’t eat the wonderful looking cakes laid out before them, due to their high refined sugar content. We started thinking about the possibility of making delicious sweet treats, with alternative ingredients.
Reducing sugar is no bad thing; everything in moderation, as they say!
Here is a collection of recipes where we have tried to reduce the sugar content and also used ingredients from less processed, natural sources. We like to use high quality ingredients, including local and organic produce whenever possible.
These are favourite recipes that have been donated by members of The Living Tree, their family and friends. A huge ‘thank you’ to all those who have contributed.
So, if you fancy doing a little home-baking to spoil yourself or others, we really hope you enjoy these nibbles. Feel free to experiment and find what works for you. Have fun.
All proceeds from this book will help support individuals and their families affected by cancer in Bridport and the surrounding areas.
The book can be obtained during Living Tree meetings, from Jo, Naturalife in South Street, Fruits of the Earth in Victoria Grove, Waterstone’s and some Living Tree members. The cost is £8.
