LIVING TREE NEWS
Hi everyone,
Jo’s celebration will take place at 3pm on Monday 8 October at Bridport United Church. The family have asked Living Tree to make a contribution and so at Friday’s meeting we decided to invite LT members to write a short sentence which sums up their memory of Jo. If you would like to do this please email your sentence to:
annsydney@yahoo.co.uk by Monday 1 October. The committee will then ask 4 LT members to read these at Jo’s celebration.
A huge thank you to amazing young volunteers Taiya and Maci-Jay who raised over £100 for Living Tree at last week’s West Bay Car Boot Sale.
Burton Bradstock Bridge Club raised £667 during the summer. The cheque was handed over last Tuesday. The public’s generosity never ceases to surprise us. We are very grateful.
Living Tree Charity Auction – 4 November – please contact Amazing Ros (asap) if you have items which could be auctioned or items for the raffle or Christmas Hamper. Info below. Ros’s number is 01308 422650.

AMBLERS
WEDNESDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 11 – 3pm
Weather permitting, our next walk will be on Wednesday 26 September, leaving at 11am from the Charles 2nd memorial stone at the junction of Lee Lane with the A35 to Dorchester. This is a circular, 4.5-mile walk, most of which is fairly easy going but it does have a couple of stiles and one short, particularly steep section downwards which will require extra care, especially if wet. The walk will take us through Walditch to Shipton Gorge where we can stop for light refreshments at The New Inn if you wish. Suitable clothing and footwear advised and hiking poles highly recommended to help on the more difficult parts. I suggest parking either at the top end of Jessop Avenue or in Howard Road. Allow 3 – 3.5 hours for this walk, including refreshment stop. Please call Rita on 01308 482366 or email:
bechervaisep@aol.com for more information and to book on the walk. We need to let The New Inn know numbers of people coming a few days before the walk.
SPLASH CLUB meets 7-8pm every Tuesday at Highlands End pool, you can bring one guest for £1 & transport can be arranged. The sauna and steam room are available for warming up.
TABLE TENNIS on Mondays 9.30 – 11am at Salwayash – lifts available from Bridport. Thursdays 12.00 – 13.30 at Bridport Leisure Centre. Contact Paul on 01308 488700 if interested.
